In eight years, our clients and Be Free Investments have seen a lot. We did battle with two vicious bear markets in stocks, weathered huge swings in so many commodity markets and witnessed the whole of the world economy go through its toughest challenges since WWII.
We finished 2009 with another winning year in our INCOME investment strategy, making for seven out of eight years with a positive return in the strategy. And after a tough year in 2008, our stock market-tracking strategy, STOCKS PLUS, outperformed its benchmark, the S&P 500, for the sixth time in eight years and was up over 25%.
Now, to other news...Be Free Investments is taking a break. To put it short and sweet, we're closing shop for now. Our approach to managing your money has been a success. STOCKS PLUS' job was to beat the market and it did that in six out of eight years. Our total return investment vehicle, the INCOME strategy, was up seven out of eight and in it's worst year, its one single down year, it only lost our most leveraged clients 12%. To put things in baseball parlance, we stepped up to the plate, and we went two for two.
